This course offers both a practical and theoretical immersion into the fascinating world of art auctions, exploring their inner workings, strategies, and the artistic and economic value of auctioned objects. In collaboration with Subastas Segre, participants will enjoy exclusive access to guided visits, expert talks, and the unique experience of attending a live auction.
Throughout the course, we will analyze the different stages of the auction process—from cataloguing and valuation to bidding and adjudication—as well as the role of collectors, artists, and galleries within this ecosystem.
