This course offers theoretical and practical education in contemporary curating, including research and the development of curatorial discourses, as well as the management, production, funding and communication of exhibition projects.
Through case studies and visits to museums, galleries, art centres and artists’ studios, participants will gain first-hand insight into the art world and the main trends in contemporary art. Furthermore, they will develop their own curatorial project, applying the knowledge they have acquired and reflecting on the current challenges facing curators.
Alba Campo Rosillo is director of the [H]ARTE Foundation Programme and has taught at universities in the United States and Madrid, including the University of Illinois, the University of Delaware, Saint Louis University and Schiller International University. She has been awarded prestigious research grants from institutions such as the National Gallery of Art in Washington, the National Portrait Gallery of the Smithsonian Institution and the Terra Foundation for American Art. Her professional experience includes organising and developing exhibitions at institutions such as the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts, the Delaware Art Museum and the Carnegie Museum of Art, as well as curating exhibitions at the Thyssen-Bornemisza National Museum.
